FoxESS Solar Monitor

FoxESS Solar Monitor dashboard — real-time solar, battery and tariff tracking

Most solar inverter dashboards tell you what happened yesterday. This one tells you what's happening now — and what it's costing.

A custom dashboard for a 13kW solar and 40kWh battery system. Tracks real-time generation, load, battery state and grid draw alongside live tariff calculations, feed-in earnings and daily bill projections. Includes a ZeroHero window tracker so the household never misses a free energy period.

What it does

  • Live solar generation, battery state, house load and grid draw — every 5 minutes from the FoxESS open API.
  • Real-time tariff calculation against a GloBird ZeroHero plan — peak/off-peak, shoulder, feed-in, VPP credits.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly bill projections — always current.
  • ZeroHero free-window tracker — alerts if grid draw creeps up during peak hours.

FoxESS Open API · Python · Lightweight single-page dashboard

Currently in beta — used daily by the household.

SolarRates

SolarRates — Australian battery plan comparison tool

Energy retailers make it deliberately hard to compare battery plans. SolarRates is a community-sourced database of what Australian battery owners are actually paying.

What it does

  • Supply charges, peak and off-peak rates, feed-in tariffs, VPP credits and free window times — all visible in one place.
  • Filterable by state, distributor and retailer.
  • Community-submitted plans with moderation — real numbers from real bills.
  • No affiliate links, no hype, no sales funnel.
